The United States District Court is located at the E. Barnett Prettyman Courthouse. The courthouse’s address is 333 Constitution Avenue in Washington, D.C. This is where individuals accused of federal crimes in D.C. are arraigned, motions are heard, jury trials are conducted, and sentences are handed down. The United States District Court for the District of Columbia currently has 15 full-time judges as well as a number of senior judges who take a limited number of cases. The chief judge of the district court is the Honorable James Boasberg.
